About The Position

Under the direction and supervision of the responsible Registered Nurse, performs specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs of the patient using the nursing process. Provides input to assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care. Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures. Recognizes and participates in own continuing education. This externship will begin in December 2025.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent OR currently enrolled in the Henry Ford Health Early College Program.
• Completion of two clinical rotations as required at an accredited school of nursing.
• Enrolled in an accredited school of nursing.
• Completion of two clinical rotations, one of which must be Med/Surg in an acute care setting.
• Actively enrolled in a nursing program and successfully complete each course.
• Provide transcripts to Nurse Manager after each semester/term.
• Provide a copy of your plan of work to your Nurse Manager.
• Meet academic institution's standard for continued enrollment in the school of nursing classes.
