About The Position

This position is for a professional nurse with a focus on midwifery services, requiring a graduate or higher level degree from an accredited nursing educational program. The role involves managing care for women during various stages of pregnancy and providing family planning and gynecological care. Applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination and hold a current, unrestricted nursing license. The position is open for applications from 8/27/2024 to 8/26/2025.

Requirements

• Graduate or higher level degree from an accredited nursing educational program.
• Current, active, full, and unrestricted nursing license.
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.
• Experience in midwifery services and managing care during pregnancy.

Nice To Haves

• PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in nursing or related medical science field.
• Experience in advanced practice nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide midwifery services under supervision.
• Manage care of women during prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum periods.
• Provide family planning, gynecological care, counseling, health education, and preventive services.
• Perform well women exams and assess patients and deliveries of newborns.
• Recognize and respond to obstetric complications and emergencies.
• Manage routine low-risk pregnant patients and collaborate with obstetricians for high-risk cases.
• Provide full spectrum midwifery services including triage and treatment planning.
• Perform complete assessments for well women, maternity, and newborns.
• Provide independent diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic nursing services.
