About The Position

This position is a federal role located in Belcourt, ND, and is open for applications from March 13, 2024, to March 12, 2025. To qualify, applicants must demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the position. Experience can include both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer service through National Service programs such as the Peace Corps and AmeriCorps. Applicants must clearly identify their duties and responsibilities in each position held, along with the total number of hours worked per week. The position requires adherence to the General Schedule Qualifications and the Health Aid and Technician Series 0640 requirements. Specialized experience is necessary, which may include support duties to medical or health personnel such as audiologists, speech pathologists, medical officers, and optometrists.

Requirements

• Must possess a current unrestricted Paramedic certification or licensure from any U.S. State.
• For GS-5: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-4 level or a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with at least 24 semester hours in related subjects.
• For GS-6: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-5 level.
• For GS-7: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-6 level.

Responsibilities

• Takes vital signs.
• Performs catheterizations.
• Provides instructions to patients.
• Assists providers in medical treatments.
• Collects a wide variety of specimens.
• Independently conducts complete assessments using knowledge of topographic anatomy and major body systems.
• Identifies and treats trauma/medical emergencies.
