About The Position

Step into this crucial role, responsible for assisting with the coordination and implementation of our Infection Prevention and Control Program. Monitor cases of communicable diseases, health care-associated infections and epidemiologically significant organisms. Collect, analyze and report on surveillance data, ensuring the program complies with all applicable regulations. Identify and investigate potential outbreaks, and implement appropriate prevention and control measures. Provide consultation services to various departments throughout our hospital, by partnering closely with staff nurses, nursing leaders and physicians on their infection prevention and control. Regularly evaluate the program, and actively participate in performance improvement initiatives. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • NYS RN license.
  • Ability to take certification examination after 2 years or less of employment.
  • 3-5 years of clinical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in nursing or related field.
  • If master's in nursing, BSN can be preferred.
  • Certified by the Certification Board for Infection Control & Epidemiology.
  • 3 years' experience in Bedside Nursing (Critical Care preferred).
  • 2 years of acute care experience.
  • Infection Control experience.
