The Nurse Educator is responsible for the planning, development, and documentation of clinical orientation and continuing education programs for nursing staff. This role supports quality patient care by educating healthcare providers in current practices and procedures, and by delivering patient, family, and community education in alignment with ANA standards, the New Jersey Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, specialty organizations, and CentraState’s evidence-based nursing policies. The Nurse Educator collaborates in designing, evaluating, and revising unit-specific educational programs—such as competency-based orientation, skill testing, and continuing education—based on identified learning needs, patient outcomes, community standards of practice, and current research. The role also anticipates future individual and group learning needs and actively participates in councils, committees, and task groups as a leader, facilitator, and team member to advance nursing standards, processes, and principles.
