Nurse Educator / Trainer (RN or LPN) – Multi-State Travel
About The Position
GENESYS Health Alliance is seeking an experienced Nurse Educator / Trainer to support onboarding and training across multiple correctional healthcare facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring all new nursing staff are properly trained in clinical policies, onboarding procedures, and compliance standards across all assigned states. This position combines in-person training with travel and virtual education sessions. The Nurse Educator will lead onboarding and ongoing education for nursing staff, ensuring consistency in training, regulatory compliance, and clinical best practices across all facilities. This role works closely with nursing leadership and corporate teams to standardize processes and support staff success.
Requirements
- Active RN or LPN license (multistate preferred)
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience
- BLS certification required
- Strong presentation, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple sites
- Proficiency with virtual training platforms and computer systems
Nice To Haves
- Previous training, education, or preceptor experience preferred
- BLS Instructor/Trainer certification preferred
- Correctional healthcare experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Conduct onboarding and orientation training for all newly hired nursing staff
- Educate staff on company policies, procedures, and clinical workflows
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards (NCCHC, etc.)
- Travel to facilities to provide in-person training and support
- Facilitate virtual training sessions and maintain training materials
- Assess competency and readiness of new hires
- Identify gaps in training and implement improvements
- Partner with DONs and leadership to ensure consistency across sites
- Maintain accurate training records and documentation
- Perform correctional officer training
- Support ongoing education, in-services, and refresher training
