About The Position

The Nurse Educator is a registered nurse who works as an expert practitioner within a specialized field of nursing. This individual is responsible for evaluating and implementing evidence-based practice, education, and professional development, within critical care areas. They serve as a clinical resource for the Medical/Surgical units (3M, 4M, 5M) Nursing staff for bedside care. In addition, they will focus on new graduate nurses development within the Medical/Surgical Departments.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited NLN approved RN program.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• Master's degree in Education preferred.
• Five (5) years of recent clinical experience in a Medical/Surgical setting.
• One year of education background preferred.
• Current SC nursing license or compact state license.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Outcomes oriented with knowledge of education methods and clinical practice.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and implement evidence-based practice in critical care areas.
• Provide education and professional development for nursing staff.
• Serve as a clinical resource for Medical/Surgical units.
• Focus on the development of new graduate nurses within Medical/Surgical Departments.
