Quail Run Behavioral Health Hospital Phoenix is seeking a dynamic and talented Nurse Educator/Infection Prevention RN to work Day Shift to join our team of compassionate, dedicated professionals. The Nurse Educator is a registered professional nurse who will facilitate orientation for all new staff, teaching and assessing many competencies and passing new staff off to mentors who will oversee the completion of the orientation competencies. Requirements

Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; MSN Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing preferred credentialing by ANCC.
A minimum of 2-5 years' experience in a psychiatric health-care facility. Preferred with 2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity at unit based level. Preferred 2 years' experience in acute medical nursing care environment.
Currently licensed to practice by the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
CPR certification. Successful completion of Handle with Care. Successful completion of restraint and seclusion policy review as well as demonstration of proper use of manual holds and restraints.
Must possess a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card in the State of Arizona, or provide proof of application within 20 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

MSN Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing preferred credentialing by ANCC.

Responsibilities

Assist with formulation and implementation of training in areas identified as requiring follow-up and/or refresher education including annual competencies.
Evaluate patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices; addresses assessed needs with education programs when appropriate.
Oversee education for Nursing Department staff, uploading required education monthly for staff to complete.
Carry out periodic inspections to ensure that procedures for the control of infections are being followed correctly.
Collect and maintain statistical data of value in the identification and control of infections.
