About The Position

The Nurse Educator and Infection Preventionist plays a critical role in the Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) health services by providing leadership in infection control and nursing education. This position involves coordinating nursing orientation, developing competencies, and serving as a consultant and collaborator with other treatment disciplines to ensure high standards of nursing care and infection prevention.

Requirements

  • Associate of Nursing Degree or Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts in nursing (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (or ability to obtain within 2 years).

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized work to manage infection control issues effectively.

  • Develop and oversee infection control training and materials for staff education.
  • Ensure infection control programs adhere to relevant standards and regulations.
