About The Position

The position is for a full-time Registered Nurse at Navicent Health Medical Center, specifically in the Medical/Surgical IU 7 Main department. The role involves strategic direction, results accountability, process improvement, change management, interpersonal communication, financial accountability, technical expertise, leadership skills, and direct patient care responsibilities. The nurse will be expected to maintain a positive working environment, ensure compliance with policies, and engage in professional development. The position requires a commitment to quality patient care and participation in various organizational initiatives.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.
  • BSN required; MSN preferred.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of nursing experience.
  • Two (2) years of experience in the area of specialty preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of previous nursing experience in progressively responsible leadership roles.
  • Current Registered Nursing License with Georgia Board of Nursing or Current Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • Recommended certification in relevant specialty.
  • CPR/ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and acts on opportunities to gain competitive advantage and enhance organizational growth.

  • Maintains an appropriate working environment and assures proper distribution/utilization of personnel.
  • Utilizes a process improvement approach for design and nurse-sensitive indicators.

  • Utilizes effective communication techniques to deliver timely information.
  • Participates in budget preparation and monitors expenditures.
  • Demonstrates competence in specialty area and maintains pace with technology.
  • Facilitates conflict resolution and provides necessary supervision and feedback.
  • Demonstrates competency in direct patient care and professional functions.
  • Promotes the Magnet spirit and encourages participation in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assists in achieving unit quality scores that meet or exceed hospital/national averages.
