About The Position

The Nurse Demand Management Sr. is responsible for providing telephone triage to assess complex caller needs and deliver relevant health information to assist callers in making informed healthcare decisions. This role serves as a resource for lower-level medical call nurses and involves establishing supportive relationships with callers and their families, conducting thorough assessments, and coordinating with case management and physicians.

Requirements

  • Requires AS in nursing and a minimum of 5 years of acute clinical experience, or any combination of education and experience that would provide an equivalent background.
  • Current unrestricted RN license in applicable state(s) required.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN and previous triage experience preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Call Center experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a resource to lower-level medical call nurses.
  • Establish and maintain supportive relationships with callers and their families.
  • Perform professional assessment of caller's needs with accurate, concise documentation.
  • Conduct thorough symptom assessment of caller's situation using established criteria and protocol.
  • Coordinate with case management and/or staff physicians.
  • Utilize established software, written materials, online resources, and nursing background to provide callers with appropriate medical information.
  • Provide callers with appropriate community resources.
  • Conduct research and problem-solving activities for more complex situations.
  • May be assigned to work on special projects relevant to medical call or general medical management policies, practices, and procedures.
