The Nursing Coordinator for the Magnet Program at Samaritan Hospital is a full-time position with 8-hour shifts during the day. This role reports to the Director of Professional Practice and Nursing Research and is responsible for supporting the organization in the implementation of initiatives related to obtaining and maintaining the ANCC's Pathway to Excellence (PTE) designation. The coordinator ensures that the organization's environment reflects the internalization of the six standards essential for developing a positive practice environment for nursing across acute care. The position involves developing strategies and coordinating with all departments to implement and enhance policies, procedures, and processes to ensure positive results for various accreditation groups. The Nursing Coordinator has primary responsibility for nursing clinical practice and program development and submission related to the PTE designation.

  • Support the organization in implementing initiatives related to ANCC's Pathway to Excellence designation.
  • Ensure the organization's milieu reflects the internalization of the six standards for a positive nursing practice environment.
  • Develop strategies and coordinate with departments to enhance policies and procedures.
  • Have primary responsibility for nursing clinical practice and program development related to PTE designation.
  • Coordinate, develop, and submit necessary documentation for PTE designation.
  • Master's degree in Nursing or enrolled in a Master's program with completion within two years of hire.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of New York.
  • Three years of nursing experience in an acute care setting.
  • Three years of teaching or leadership experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including staff development and program maintenance.
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate, and problem-solve effectively.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and decision-making methodologies.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Doctorate degree.
  • National Certification in Specialty.
