About The Position

Provides operational, quality improvement, and management consulting services related to wound and ostomy care. Plans implements, and evaluates projects related to system development, operational and strategic planning, and policy development to improve the quality of care. Provides leadership, expertise, education, program development, and consultation services to promote the standards of nursing practice. Supports the planning, development, and implementation of cross-functional operational and strategic initiatives and projects related to wound and ostomy care. Works collaboratively with the management team and other healthcare professionals in the development of nursing practice outcomes. Collaborates with leadership through process improvement and supports program development and organizational mission and goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years clinical RN experience, including pediatrics and/or assigned specialty population
  • Clinical background working with wound and ostomy patients.
  • Current Washington State or Multistate (MSL) RN license.
  • Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurse (WOCN) Certification on hire and must be maintained thereafter.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers. This is a condition of hire and must be maintained at all times.
  • Pediatric Emergency, Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS), or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Providers. (Note: Employees are responsible for any costs (including time away from work) associated with obtaining PALS or PEARS certification if it is not a requirement of the position).
  • ACLS will not be accepted as a substitute to the requirements listed above.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years wound and ostomy experience.
  • Pediatric experience.
  • Experience and understanding of community resources and pediatric tertiary care centers.
  • Experience managing gastrostomy tubes, wound vacs, and complex wounds.
