About The Position

Broughton Hospital is currently accepting applications for a Therapeutic Program Coordinator position assigned to Nursing Administration. This dynamic position is responsible for managing the therapeutic patient care environment for the Nursing Department. The position will focus on developing, implementing, evaluating and maintaining a therapeutic clinical intervention model program for Adolescent Services or other areas, as assigned. The Therapeutic Program Coordinator duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: -Planning, developing, implementing and evaluating therapeutic clinical nursing programs designed to provide a high level of recovery-oriented interventions and patient safety. -Providing education to nursing staff related to clinical nursing programs, hospital policies and procedures and evidence-based practices -Providing problem-oriented solutions identified through the continuous assessment and identification of patient and nursing staff needs. -Serving as a professional resource and subject matter expert regarding the standards of care, hospital policy and procedures as well as regulatory requirements · Providing advanced technical expertise and guidance in assessing, developing and implementing educational and research materials to meet nursing practice needs. · Serving as a professional resource to staff and continuously monitors compliance with agency policies and standards. Leads employees by demonstrating a professional, caring approach, by listening, being accessible, and leading by example toward common operational, safety and therapeutic goals and objectives of the unit. · Collaborate with nursing leadership to implement plans for employees to gain necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform their duties. · Listening, asking questions, and providing feedback to employees, giving clear and concise instructions. · Developing and maintaining effective communication and work relationships with physicians, upper management, healthcare personnel, patients, families, agencies, and others. · Assessing employee competencies and conducting/participating in management reviews. · Coaching, mentoring, and supporting professional development of nursing staff. · Promotes interdisciplinary communication and problem-solving. Reviews, interprets and analyzes data within the Hospital’s Patient Safety Evaluation System (PSES.) Makes program and therapeutic environment recommendations to Nursing leadership based on data trends Assists in setting Performance Improvement (PI) goals with Nursing leadership Participates in the Hospital’s Performance Improvement process

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and two years of clinical experience in the area of specialization.
  • Selected applicants must be able to pass a State Bureau of Investigation Criminal History Check, and complete and pass BLS/CPR training and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training during orientation.
  • This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse
  • Experience working with children/adolescents in an in-patient or out-patient behavioral health setting.
  • Experience developing therapeutic programs for patients in an in-patient or out-patient behavioral health setting
  • Experience implementing and evaluating evidence-based practices
