About The Position

This is an open continuous announcement until January 30, 2026. Qualified applicants will be considered and referred as vacancies become available. The staff nurse is a registered nurse responsible for continuous delivery of patient care. This position potentially requires flexibility in schedule and assignments, as this is a 24/7 hospital. The successful candidate must be poised and articulate in communicating with people of varied educational levels and varied ethnic backgrounds. The nurse must be able to work cooperatively as a member of a team in all assignments. Makes caring for the Veteran his/her priority while in the work setting and demonstrates customer service principles in all aspects of work and is self-motivated in the pursuit of meeting professional work standards. Requirements

  • Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

Responsibilities

  • Independently plans and delivers technically competent care to patients with complex needs in alignment with the ANA Standards of Nursing Practice
  • Manages the care of patients, while organizing and prioritizing patient care needs, and ensuring assigned tasks are completed
  • Functions as an emerging leader in providing direction to staff to identify, implement and evaluate patient care needs
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the plan of care is achieved
  • Provides and directs others in Veteran/patient driven care that optimizes the patient's experience, satisfaction, and/or safety for a team of patients
  • Maintains professional boundaries to protect patient vulnerabilities and act in the best interest of the patient.
  • Role models and displays ethical behavior
  • Recognizes ethical issues related to professional nursing practice and models appropriate action by providing and directing others in the provision of care following established policies and ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses
  • Models' high reliability principles and I CARE values to improve patient outcomes
  • Demonstrates knowledge over a wide range of job responsibilities, effectively communicating with individuals and groups to build a strong sense of teamwork and purpose
