We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate nurse to support our growing cardio-oncology patient population. This role requires strong collaboration with oncology providers and other medical departments to ensure seamless coordination of care. The ideal candidate will be comfortable screening referrals to appropriate subspecialty cardio-oncology providers and implementing nursing interventions tailored to complex cardio-oncology needs. Familiarity or a strong desire to learn the intricacies of oncology treatments—including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapies, immunotherapies, biologic therapies, stem cell transplant, and emerging clinical trial drugs—is preferred. Experience managing heart failure patients or those on guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) is preferred. This position also involves initiating and organizing patient education and resources specific to cardiology and cardio-oncology, as well as participating in continuous learning through institutional programs and Chicago Citywide Cardio-Oncology Rounds. Monday through Friday; 8 hours per day; 2 days per week remote post orientation as clinic operations allows The Nurse Clinician will work in a multidisciplinary environment which will require exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, clinical and administrative units. This position will utilize nursing skills to perform patient assessments via phone or in person and implement nursing interventions; as such the ability to use appropriate judgment, independent thinking and creativity when resolving patient care issues. Also responsible for initiating & organizing patient education for the population this unit serves.
