About The Position

Children’s Hospital of Richmond is seeking a visionary Nurse Clinician to drive training, education, and competency initiatives across the CHoR footprint. This position will spearhead the development, implementation, and oversight of code simulation programs in collaboration with Simulation Program physician leadership. The Nurse Clinician demonstrates a high level of expertise in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of the complex patients and their responses to actual or potential health problems. This role assists the health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort. The Nurse Clinician provides direction, education, leadership and accountability for program development, implementation and evaluation in area of responsibility. This role includes professional development and empowerment of staff as well as management of resources to promote desired outcomes with attention to quality, efficiency and cost.

Requirements

  • Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state
  • Current RN Licensure in Virginia
  • AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent
  • 5 years nursing experience required
  • Minimum of one year experience in the position's specialty patient population or practice setting
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Must be enrolled in a Master’s degree program at the time of application and must be complete within 36 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in staff education and professional development (orientation, preceptorship, in-services education, etc.)
  • Academic health care experience
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or a related field. If the master’s degree is not in Nursing, then it is required to have a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
