About the position

The position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) with two years of clinical experience, who will practice in accordance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act. The RN will be a competent clinician, knowledgeable and skilled in their specialty area, and will function as a member of the interdisciplinary team. The role involves problem-focused and patient-centered care, managing unexpected situations, and serving as a resource for less experienced nurses. The RN will provide patient care based on the American Nurses Association Standards of Professional Practice and will align with institutional goals and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document daily care of assigned patients.
  • Identify nursing diagnoses and develop individualized care plans.
  • Execute physician's orders and administer medications and treatments.
  • Perform routine technical procedures in the assigned specialty area.
  • Provide patient/family instruction and healthcare teaching based on identified learning needs.
  • Plan, coordinate, and prioritize patient care activities according to skill level and work complexity.
  • Maintain safety and continuity of care using effective communication methods.
  • Demonstrate effective time management skills and delegate appropriately.
  • Identify ethical situations and seek assistance when necessary.
  • Support a healthy work environment through respectful communication with the healthcare team.
  • Recognize unit and institutional strategic initiatives and goals.
  • Participate in unit meetings and quality improvement activities.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Two years of clinical RN experience.
