The candidate should be experienced, knowledgeable, and skilled in their specialty area, functioning competently as a member of the interdisciplinary team. The practice is characterized by predominantly independent decision-making, focusing on problem-solving and patient-centered care. The clinician should be able to manage unexpected or emergency situations commonly seen in the assigned specialty population and serve as a resource for Nurse Clinician I or II. The role involves providing patient care through nursing practices based on the American Nurses Association Standards of Professional Practice and Professional Performance, while valuing specialty unit, nursing, and institutional strategic initiatives and health system goals.
