Assist the agency's licensed nurse and other program personnel with medical, administrative, and assigned tasks, as follows: Medical Card Administration. Check monthly cards, distribute copies, follow-up on issues with coverage, etc). Medical Appointments. Schedule medical, dental, vision, and/or other specialty appointments for children in agency programs, complete paperwork, transport children to and from appointments, report to nurse the results of appointments, and communicate any medical follow-up care that is needed. Maintain good relationships and communication with children's health care providers. Health Filing. Keep record of appointments, set up health charts on intake, follow-up on medical information (immunizations, health records). Track medical file completeness. Fax, file, facilitate communication regarding medical records. Medication Administration. Administer medications to children in agency programs, do monthly tracking and calculation of dosages from the Medical Administration Record. Medication Change Follow-Up. Assist with administrative paperwork and follow up when medication changes have been made. First Aid/Blood Spill Kits. Do monthly check and refill of kits. Child Health. Assist with height/weight tracking of children, assist with vision screenings, blood pressure, PRN medication administration as directed by the nurse. Pharmacy Communication. Assist nurse with communication issues with pharmacy, including faxing and filing of documents. Other tasks as assigned.
