About The Position

The Nurse Assistant is responsible for performing direct and indirect patient care tasks as delegated by the appropriate licensed nursing personnel. The primary responsibility of the Nurse Assistant is to provide basic patient cares such as bathing and hygiene, elimination and toileting, nutrition feeding and hydration, and ambulation and positioning. The Nurse Assistant supports patient safety and patient satisfaction by performing regular patient rounds on the nursing unit and effectively communicating with all team members. The Nurse Assistant demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• Successful completion of an unlicensed assistive personnel curriculum that meets minimum training standards.
• Documented experience as a Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Emergency Room Technician, or Surgical Technician in the past three years, or completion of a LPN program outside the US and awaiting licensure examination, or nursing student who has completed fundamentals or equivalent course, or nursing licensure candidate who failed to pass state licensure examinations in the past three years, or certified as a nursing assistant as defined in section 198.082, RSMo.
• BLS Certification required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
• Previous computer experience preferred.

Responsibilities
