The Nurse Assistant Apprenticeship functions within a classroom and clinical learning environment to obtain training as unlicensed assistive personnel. While in the clinical learning environment, the apprentice will provide basic patient care under the direction and supervision of clinical educators and nursing staff. Duties may include taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, changing linens, and other tasks as directed. The apprentice will also obtain information on patient conditions as requested and report any changes. A competency assessment will be administered at the end of the training to validate learning.
