About The Position

Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic is looking for a Nurse Assistant to join our team! The primary objective of this position is to improve quality by providing direct, basic patient care activities under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include care and cleaning of specific equipment, stocking of supplies and equipment, and the transportation of patients, supplies, and equipment. The Nurse Assistant will perform direct and indirect patient care activities following RN instructions, physician orders, policies, procedures, and regulations.

Requirements

• High School Graduate/Equivalent required.
• PA Nurse Aide Registry (CNA) OR completed a minimum of one semester of clinical rotations in an accredited nursing program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, basic patient care activities under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
• Care and clean specific equipment, stock supplies and equipment, and transport patients, supplies, and equipment.
• Obtain supplies from designated supply rooms to assure patient rooms are ready for patient admission and cleared when patient discharged/transferred.
• Feed patients and demonstrate knowledge of dysphagia precautions and calculating and recording intake and output.
• Collect specimens such as urine routine, clean catch, foley, and stools for c-diff.
• Apply heat and cold packs, ace wraps, slings, binders, protective devices, and orthopedic devices.
• Participate in hourly rounding programs to ensure patient safety and reduce patient harm.
• Observe for environmental safety and inform patients and families on safety precautions.
• Turn and reposition patients, assist with toileting activities, and address personal needs.
• Seek assistance from the Nurse Manager or designee for conflict resolution.
