About The Position

The Nurse Assistant I in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is responsible for providing essential support to nursing staff by delivering both direct and indirect patient care. This role focuses on assisting with specific treatments and basic nursing care, ensuring the highest standards of care tailored to the developmental needs of neonatal patients.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Completion of a North Carolina State Approved Nurse Aide I course required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN).
• Performs special procedures correctly under the direction of the RN.
• Creates and maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.

• Communicates effectively with team members, patients, and family members.
• Takes personal responsibility for performance and professional growth.
• Provides age/developmental appropriate patient care according to established guidelines.
