The Nursing Apprentice position involves a one-on-one nursing preceptorship aimed at enhancing nursing knowledge, awareness of the nursing role, confidence, acclimation to the environment, and socialization to the team. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) preceptor and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, the apprentice assists in performing a variety of nursing care services for patients. The role requires engagement in didactic educational assignments and participation in progress evaluations. After completing orientation requirements, the nursing apprentice must work a minimum of 24 hours a month until transitioning into the nursing residency program. If a nursing apprentice does not secure a residency position during the designated hiring period, they will transition out of the program into another available position. Enrollment in an accredited nursing program must be maintained during the apprenticeship, except for those graduating and awaiting the NCLEX exam.
