About The Position

CRNA Anesthesiology (Full-time, Day Shift) May be eligible for sign-on bonus and relocation reimbursement Job Summary: The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) provides comprehensive anesthesia care (general anesthesia, procedure-related sedation, and regional techniques) in collaboration with the medically- directed anesthesiologist who is directly available during the entire course of anesthesia at all LLUMC and LLUMC affiliated sites; determines age-specific (neonatal through later adult) anesthesia plan prior to induction; communicates effectively throughout anesthetic episode; applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expands knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in anesthesia care; utilizes discretion and independent judgment in the delivery of whole-person care; practices within the CRNA scope of practice and follows LLUMC policies, protocols, techniques, guidelines, and state and federal regulations; utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service, safe patient care, and professionalism; contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. These services may be provided for both the LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nurse Anesthesia required.
  • Valid California Registered Nurse license required.
  • Valid California Nurse Anesthetist Certificate required.
  • Current certification by National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) required.
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications by the American Heart Association required.
  • Able to read; write legibly; speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment.
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently with minimal supervision; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail.
  • Able to distinguish colors and smells as necessary for patient care; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place/patient care; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position; discern temperature variances through touch.

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical experience providing anesthesia care as a CRNA or student nurse anesthetist within the last twelve months preferred.
  • speak in Spanish preferred
