About The Position
Thomson-Hood Veterans Center is a skilled nursing Facility that cares for the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Veterans. Our mission is to serve Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care. We are looking for a self-motivated, energetic Nurse Aide who possesses the desire to care for Kentucky’s Veterans. All shifts are open. Expectations include but are not limited to: Assist residents with personnel hygiene such as bathing, dental and oral care, hair and nail care. Have an active status as a nurse aide on the KBN Nurse Aide Registry. Assist residents with bowel and bladder functions by escorting to the bathroom, providing bedpan or portable commodes. Checks and records intake and output flow charts. Assist with meals and nourishments for residents requiring assistance and restorative dining. Perform total physical care to include assisting with meals, as well as helping to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of our Veterans. Measure and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respirations, height, as instructed. Collect and label specimens for laboratory analysis. Strong interpersonal skills This position has an approved Locality Premium of $6.96, based on the organizational structure and work county it is currently assigned to, in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1).

- EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: NONE
- SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must possess current registration with the Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry as administered by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services and Kentucky Board of Nursing. https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/kar/906/001/100.pdf http://www.kbn.ky.gov/. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.
