I. Position Summary: The Instructor of Nursing Assistant Training (NAT) is responsible for the instruction of Nursing Assistant (NA) participants in the didactic, skills lab, and clinical arenas. Providing a quality education for program participants and performing instructional-related duties and responsibilities. Serving as a teacher, mentor, and facilitator of learning, and a career coach for participants. II. Position Responsibilities: Learner recruiting and onboarding Conducting prospective student interviews and assessing program readiness After candidates are selected, meet with candidates to assess competency gaps and needs before the program starts Coordinate badge picture taking and parking permits for participants Provide tours to all new participants Collaborate with the Program Manager to ensure participants are onboarded before the cohort starts Teaching and Oversight of the NAT Program Teaches assigned NA course and maintains accreditation standards Participates in the assessment of student learning outcomes, including final written and skills assessments Ensures an engaging learning environment for students, including facilitating class discussions and skills instruction Coordinate the schedule with the Lunder Careforce team to ensure the scheduling of additional instructors Provide a top-notch educational experience for participants in the classroom, lab, and clinical rotations Provide career coaching to candidates during and after cohort training Provide ongoing feedback to the program manager and employer partners on the candidate's progress Maintain accurate records on all participants, including but not limited to attendance records, schedules, course requirements regarding hours of instruction/content, and exam pass rates. Listen attentively, speak respectfully, maintain confidentiality Ability to work independently and be accountable for projects under his/her direction Utilize in-person, email, Zoom, and phone communications to provide swift and thoughtful dialogue with colleagues, learners, and affiliate institutions Willingness to continually evaluate processes and make/recommend improvements Demonstrate dependability and accountability with all duties Ability to work well under time pressure and consistently meet deadlines IV Qualifications: RN (Required) Bachelor's (Preferred) 2 years Long Term Care Experience (Required) Teaching: 2 years (Preferred) Nursing: 2 years (Preferred) Be physically able to perform work with patients and students in a clinical setting Must be proficient in Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and have experience with the Zoom platform. Familiar with or able to quickly pick up skills with relevant digital tools (e.g,. SharePoint) Must be able to prioritize and handle multiple requests in a timely fashion Ability to relate to a diverse population and to maintain composure when faced with difficult situations Must have excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and take appropriate action to resolve problems using independent judgment and decision-making process V Physical Requirements (ADA Requirements) Please refer to the Physical Requirements sheets in Occupational Health.
