Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a healthcare setting or related experience preferred.
  • Healthcare Provider CPR certification or must successfully obtain as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Possess ability to make independent judgments and multitask in a fast-paced environment and under stressful situations at times.
  • Understanding of the confidentiality laws that govern the provider-patient relationship, including but not limited to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates effectively with others while maintaining discretion, courtesy and an understanding of patient privacy.
  • Maintains visual observation of assigned patient(s) and as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Verbally redirects patient accordingly and contacts appropriate personnel per department procedure and protocol as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Provides care to patient based on the treatment plan and within scope of practice as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Multitasks and prioritizes simultaneous situations.
  • Ensures patient environment safety and seeks assistance per department procedure.
  • Works with the nursing staff to set and maintain patient care, work priorities and a changing workload.
  • Adheres and upholds all organizational customer service policies and standards while caring for patients and interacting with others.
  • Exhibits a good working knowledge of instruments, equipment, etc. as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Removes contaminated materials and properly cleans surfaces per department protocol and as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Performs stocking and restocking of supplies as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Assesses patient for relevant physical and cognitive abilities that may affect personalized activity programs as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Designs activities for patients of different abilities, personal preferences and individual or group settings as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.
