Responsible for overseeing the care of Oncology patients as a dominant aspect of the role and is recognized as an interdisciplinary leader within his/her specialty. Responsible for enacting standards of practice and standards of professional performance, consistently demonstrates the core competencies of advanced practice oncology nursing as well as defined specialty competencies.Work requires knowledge of Oncology theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a master’s degree in nursing and three to five years of previous work related experience. Licensure required as a Registered Nurse by the State of New Jersey. Certification required as an Advanced Practice Nurse by the New Jersey Board of Nursing. Successful completion of department specific orientation and department specific certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) within one year of hire.
