About The Position

This position is located at Bayne Jones Army Community Hospital in Fort Polk, Louisiana. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is an employed civilian Nurse (Inpatient Clinical/OB/GYN) position that affords job security, a competitive base salary, bonuses, moving expenses, full malpractice coverage, up to 26 days paid vacation, 11 days paid Federal Holidays, a sick leave benefit, CME opportunities, and a first-class health and retirement benefit package. As a Nurse (Adminstration/Ambulatory you will: Assist with standardizing Disease Management across the patient care continuum. Conduct specific quality improvement (QI) studies to assist in process improvement related to population health. Apply epidemiological methods to describe the population and its risks, identifying and employing evidence-based interventions and managing information. Conduct population health and medical management program evaluation and feedback, interprets data and makes evidence-based recommendations. Promotes and optimizes medical readiness of active-duty members.

Requirements

  • US Citizens
  • Degree: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.).
  • Licensure: A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; and you must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination.
  • Foreign Degree: Graduates of foreign nursing schools must have completed the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools Certification Program. The certification program consists of a credentials evaluation, the CGFNS Qualifying Exam, and evidence of passing one of the approved English Language Proficiency examinations. A copy of the CGFNS Certificate is required.
  • Experience: A diploma, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in Nursing from a professional nursing program and possession of at least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or above) which includes providing comprehensive nursing care to patients, collecting or reviewing medical data, and providing education to patients or medical staff.
  • Education: A PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field.
