Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a motivated Numerical Control Programmer to support the the Aerospace Composites Center (ACC) in Hazelwood, MO ! The Aerospace Composites Center has state-of-the-art enabled capabilities and operates to support Boeing’s Fighter Programs. The successful candidate will produce programs and implement programming methods for aerospace part fabrication. Provide support of automation systems that are involved in various production processes including 3- and 5-axis machining of metallic and composite parts. Position Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Working closely with other NC Programmers, Manufacturing Engineers, Process Engineers, Equipment Engineering, the equipment provider, Boeing Design Engineers, Boeing Research & Technology Engineers, Quality Engineers, IT, Industrial Engineers and Production Operations personnel Develop and author reliable numerical control programs for a range of automated equipment and processes Create offline programs using NX, CATIA V5 and compatible programming and simulation software Responsible for providing validated Machine Control Data (MCD) to produce production components meeting design, quality and build plan requirements Provides numerical control, machining and programming technical experience Be involved in testing and proving out new N/C programs to achieve a conforming build Once programs are released to production, candidates will be required to provide follow-on support Basic ability to utilize or create source geometry for generation of Machine Control Data (MCD). Ability to verify MCD and create documentation to support manufacturing processes. Verify MCD and create documentation to support manufacturing processes Works under general supervision Weekend work and off-shift support will be required as needed. Occasional travel may be required This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

  • Works under general supervision
  • AS or AA degree (or trade school equivalent) in Machine Tool Technology or related discipline
  • 8 or more years working as an NC Programmer
  • 3 or more years of GD&T Fundamentals
  • Experience with CAD / CAM tools and systems
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing, methods, fabrication processes (e.g., forming, stamping, machining, heat treatment, machines/machine tools, cutting tools and fluids, N/C programming, instrumentation, data acquisition and control systems)
  • NX, CATIA V5 and Vericut are highly preferred
  • Ability to select the best method of producing parts, tools or assemblies. Primary materials are aluminum, titanium, steels and composites
  • Experience with simulation software, such as Vericut, to create machine simulations that evaluate machine motion and tooling concepts.
  • Experience programming multi-axis metallic parts and/or assemblies highly preferred but not required.
  • Complete ability to utilize or create source geometry for generation of Machine Control Data (MCD)
