Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in setting and using precision measuring tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and/or dial indicators.
  • 1+ years of experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and/or other specialized computer applications.
  • 1+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design).
  • 1+ years of experience calibrating and/or using coordinate measurement machines, laser trackers, and/or optical measurement devices.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to walk constantly throughout the workday; stand 6-8 hours per day; climb or work from stairs/steps up to 8 hours per day; climb ladders; bend and twist frequently up to six hours per day; squat and kneel.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience conducting Inspections using ASME Standards for Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).

Responsibilities

  • Operate numerical controlled inspection and measuring machines according to established programs, documents, and quality standards, performing all necessary inspection functions.
  • Select and set up appropriate tools, fixtures, and equipment to accomplish work assignments effectively.
  • Manually operate machines to validate control media and perform inspection functions as required.
  • Initiate and document any nonconforming materials, hardware, or assemblies according to specifications and procedures.
  • Conduct audits and surveillance of manufacturing and quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments and devices to set up machines and perform layout for assigned work.
  • Rig and move parts/tools to the CMM table using appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Apply mathematical principles, including geometry and trigonometry, to complete work assignments accurately.
  • Coordinate inspection activities, make intershift tie-ins, and plan and arrange work assignments while referring discrepancies to supervisors.
  • Create and implement checking fixtures or shop aids as necessary to facilitate work assignments.
  • Assemble inspection data, maintain accurate records, and generate reports as required, including electronic testing results.
  • Verify all necessary documentation, including work orders and specifications, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Set up and calibrate coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for inspections, including downloading or writing computer programs as needed.
  • Perform manual inspections of parts and assemblies to verify compliance with inspection parameters and specifications, documenting required information.
  • Maintain and clean coordinate measuring machines, coordinating with maintenance as necessary, and handle hazardous materials in an approved manner.
