Responsible for Numerical Control (NC) Programming for CNC Machines, along with providing associated work instructions and shop floor support, including troubleshooting. Interacts with individual or multidiscipline teams of design, manufacturing, and quality personnel in production areas to determine best design practices for manufacturing, process plans, equipment set-up requirements, tooling requirements, programming needs, and schedule commitments. Incorporate software and programming strategies for advanced manufacturing techniques. Because product definition will be provided in various formats including paper and electronic models, use of 3-D CAD is required. Uses both paper and electronic formats to generate information required to support NC machining program generation, post-processing, and shop floor download. Provides software quality assurance support, including user testing, for new and existing software systems. Provides support for transition from a drawing centric to model centric manufacturing environment.
