About The Position
Bandwidth is seeking a Number Porting Specialist who will play a crucial role in managing direct carrier relationships to assist our customers effectively. This position involves overseeing Local Number Portability (LNP) processes, order processing through various software and web-based interfaces, and monitoring orders throughout the Portability life cycle. The specialist will be responsible for ensuring that porting orders are executed smoothly, maintaining communication with field technicians during onsite testing, and collaborating with the Clearing House provider and losing Service Provider to establish Firm Order Confirmation (FOC) acceptance. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and will be the primary point of contact for porting-related escalations, internal inquiries, and customer requests. As a Number Porting Specialist, you will work closely with sales and product management to gain a comprehensive understanding of LNP, Toll Free, and NextGEN products. Your responsibilities will include assisting customers during the number porting process to ensure a seamless transition, managing order processes for local, off-net, and toll-free numbers with high accuracy, and providing professional communication to customers, vendors, and internal team members. You will also be responsible for following up on incomplete or rejected orders, obtaining and validating Customer Service Records (CSRs), and creating and activating telephone numbers in SOA/NPAC. Collaboration with team members to enhance the overall porting experience and maintaining strong relationships with external carriers will be key aspects of your role. The Number Porting Specialist will also assist internal teams with training opportunities and act as the first level of escalation for any issues that arise. This position requires a solution-oriented mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to new processes and procedures while working independently and as part of a team.
