About The Position

Requirements

• Must meet the Company's 'General Requirements', and, in addition: Must successfully complete the Nuclear Technician - Radiation Protection (2735) Modular Training Course.
• Must demonstrate the ability to follow detailed instructions and carry out complex assignments.
• Must demonstrate an aptitude for mechanical and technical work.
• Must demonstrate keen faculties of observation.
• Must have oral and written communications skills necessary for performance of the work.
• Must have successfully completed the appropriate Pre Employment Tests except that an employee hired prior to May 1, 1977 who has or obtains a high school diploma or its equivalent does not have to complete the Pre Employment Tests.
• Must be able to qualify for an auto driver's license to operate vehicles in the State of New Jersey.
• A valid Real ID or an approved form of alternate documentation is required for this job.

Nice To Haves

• Radiation Protection experience in BWR or PWR commercial nuclear setting.
• Radiation Protection experience in Navy nuclear power setting.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, preplans and executes or performs environmental and radiological testing and evaluation of radiological conditions associated with plant operations.
• Maintains equipment associated with Radiation Protection operations.
• Performs minor and household maintenance on department operated systems.
• Performs chemistry work associated with chemistry and radiochemistry operations and systems consistent with training in the common area.
