About The Position

The Nuclear System Engineer Intern position at Vistra offers an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in engineering support for nuclear systems. Interns will work collaboratively with engineering teams to enhance the reliability, availability, efficiency, and functionality of critical equipment and processes within the nuclear generation sector.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident; students on OPT or CPT are not eligible.
• Currently enrolled in a 4-year institution pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Access is desired.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; presentation skills are desired.
• Official transcripts must be received from the school prior to the start date.
• Must be in good academic standing with the school.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with engineering software solutions.
• Familiarity with nuclear systems and processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop digital models of identified Nuclear critical systems using industry-leading software solutions.
• Build, train, and deploy Advanced Pattern Recognition models utilizing cutting-edge software solutions.
• Create Graphical User Interfaces for critical systems used in Nuclear generation.
• Collaborate with engineering staff, operations, maintenance groups, and other personnel to provide effective engineering solutions.
• Manage various engineering projects as assigned.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
