Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering or supply chain discipline, which includes Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or similar discipline.
  • Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).
  • Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be willing to work in Wilmington, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for processes and procedures that drive customer satisfaction, quality, fulfillment, and direct material productivity savings.
  • Work within a manufacturing environment to evaluate and identify areas for improvement and implement these improvements.
  • Work with cross-functional teams that focus on improving the quality of production areas.
  • Utilize LEAN manufacturing methodologies in driving improvement through the production area.
  • Enhance and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes and procedures regarding safe and effective use of production equipment.
  • Achieve lowest possible cost for material, balanced against optimum quality and schedule needs.
  • Solicit and evaluate proposals employing appropriate negotiation, cost and price analysis techniques, using available expertise from supporting organizations
  • Implement purchase contracts following applicable company and government regulations, and evaluating current and anticipated requirements.

  • Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
  • Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern's permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
