About The Position

Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Nuclear Stockpile Stewardship SME to support Headquarters United States Air Force (HAF/A10) in providing Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration. This effort delivers technical, analytical, operational, programmatic, and planning subject-matter expertise to HAF/A10 and its component divisions to advance national security strategic plans, policies, concepts, and initiatives. Support areas include international treaties and agreements, the Foreign Clearance Program, Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction, nuclear stockpile and enterprise management, missile defense, nuclear deterrence research and education, strategic policy, ancillary IT support, and program management. This is a full-time position, located on-site at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Requirements

  • Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
  • Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain TS/SCI level clearance
  • Education: Bachelor's degree
  • Years of Experience: Twenty-five (25) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, including fifteen (15) years of DoD experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of nuclear stockpile stewardship requirements at National, DoD, Joint, and Service levels
  • Demonstrated experience working and coordinating with DoD and non-DoD offices on nuclear enterprise matters

  • Education: Master's degree
  • Years of Experience: Twenty (20) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, including twelve (12) years of DoD experience
  • Demonstrated experience working in complex environments with multiple POCs
  • Demonstrated experience generating briefings; drafting information, white papers, and decision papers
  • Drafting testimony and articles for publication
  • Preparing senior Government personnel for public speaking engagements

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the on-site Stockpile Stewardship SME and Government primary point of contact, providing overall guidance on nuclear stockpile stewardship requirements.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the U.S. nuclear stockpile at national, DoD, Joint, and Service levels and of emerging nuclear weapon systems and capabilities.
  • Coordinate and liaise with DoD and non‑DoD organizations across the nuclear enterprise to align activities and information sharing.
  • Review and analyze stockpile sustainment issues, policies, and programs to identify risks and gaps.
  • Develop and recommend actionable courses of action for USG approval related to stockpile sustainment and modernization.
  • Represent the Government in technical discussions, meetings, conferences, demonstrations, workshops, and seminars with community stakeholders.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to inform decision‑making, policy development, and interagency coordination on nuclear weapon systems and stockpile matters.
