Nuclear Siting Project Manager – Natrium Technology The Nuclear Siting Project Manager – Natrium Technology will coordinate the siting program for the Natrium technology. This role reports to the VP of Business Development. A successful candidate will have authority and be held accountable for developing project siting scope, budget, and schedule as well as an implementation plan for completing projects while meeting company goals. This individual will manage multidisciplinary teams and external partners to identify, screen, and qualify potential plant sites in alignment with Executive Leadership Team direction and with regulatory, technical, environmental, and stakeholder considerations. The role requires a blend of project management expertise, technical understanding of nuclear siting requirements, and demonstrated track record of strong collaboration skills across engineering, environmental, regulatory, and community engagement disciplines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in nuclear projects (new construction or plant operations), energy infrastructure, or large-scale industrial siting and permitting projects.
  • Proven project management experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with NRC siting criteria (10 CFR Part 100), NEPA, and state-level environmental permitting.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • In-depth understanding of nuclear safety regulations and/or environmental standards (e.g., NRC, NEPA).

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a technical or management discipline.
  • PMP or similar project management certification.
  • Experience with advanced reactor technologies or DOE/NRC programs.
  • Prior experience working with utilities or public-private energy partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Program Coordination: Lead the integrated siting program for Natrium projects, ensuring coordination across relevant TerraPower Departments and schedule, budget, and deliverable alignment across all functional areas (technical, environmental, regulatory, and stakeholder engagement).
  • Site Characterization: Oversee scope and schedule development for project site characterization (e.g. geology, hydrology, and seismology).
  • Cross-Functional Integration: Coordinate input from internal subject matter experts and external consultants (e.g., environmental, geotechnical, regulatory, and land acquisition specialists).
  • Regulatory Alignment: Support TerraPower’s Regulatory Affairs and Licensing Department, as appropriate, for preparation of documentation for NRC early site permits or other federal and state siting approvals; ensure siting activities comply with applicable nuclear and environmental regulations.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate closely with government entities, utilities, local and community stakeholders to facilitate transparent communication and long-term partnerships.
  • Risk & Decision Support: Develop and maintain risk registers, decision matrices, and tracking tools to support executive-level site selection decisions.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare regular program reports, briefings, and presentations for leadership, partners, and regulatory bodies.
