About The Position

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Nuclear Safety Engineer/Analyst (Entry/Junior Level) opportunity to join our nationwide team. This entry-level position will assist Edgewater's Nuclear Safety & Criticality organization in developing nuclear safety analysis work products supporting licensing, design basis, and operability of non-reactor nuclear, nuclear power, and fuel cycle facilities managed by the Department of Energy and Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The successful candidate will perform radiological, thermal-hydraulic, chemical, and environmental assessments of new and existing plants, structures, systems, and components. The candidate will work with experienced analysts to become proficient and qualified in various task areas.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Computational skills.
• Technical capabilities and keen desire to learn.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Performing initial and final hazard categorization and classification in accordance with DOE-STD-1027-2018.
• Developing hazard identifications, hazard analyses, accident analyses, and controls in accordance with 10 CFR 830 and DOE-STD-3009-2014.
• Developing and maintaining the content of Documented Safety Analyses and Technical Safety Requirements.
• Performing Unreviewed Safety Question process evaluations in accordance with 10 CFR 830.
