About the position

The Nuclear Project Coordinator at ACS Professional Staffing is responsible for coordinating project teams and managing various aspects of nuclear projects, including planning, scheduling, and control of project activities. This role requires a specialist with detailed knowledge of project operations, focusing on improving efficiency and ensuring safety and quality in project execution. The position is full-time and located in Richland, WA.

Responsibilities

  • Manage small projects for refueling outages, forced outages, and on-line maintenance.
  • Provide oversight of staff involved in planning, leading, controlling, and monitoring project activities.
  • Ensure that all work is implemented safely, with high quality, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Oversee ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) planning and industrial/nuclear safety protocols.
  • Develop project budgets and track costs against the budget for assigned projects.
  • Monitor financial performance and report on variances.
  • Prepare detailed work packages that outline tasks, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Prioritize work and allocate resources effectively.
  • Manage parts procurement for projects to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Load resources appropriately based on project needs and schedules.
  • Resolve scheduling delays and conflicts to maintain project timelines.
  • Prepare and deliver written and oral communications to various groups, including senior management.
  • Maintain frequent communication with clients, engineers, and related parties to assure project focus and progress.
  • Develop and manage contracts with vendors and external partners.
  • Interface with vendors to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain long-range strategies associated with assigned projects.
  • Align project goals with organizational objectives.
  • Support the implementation of the Columbia Generating Station Self-Assessment and Corrective Action Program.
  • Identify areas for improvement and facilitate corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide support during outages, including coordination with the Operations Control Center (OCC) and related teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or related field from accredited college or university AND one year of experience in a technical field
  • OR Associates degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or related technical curriculum from accredited college or university AND three years' experience in a technical field
  • OR High School Diploma/GED AND five years' experience in a technical field
  • Commercial nuclear experience required
  • Project Management Certification
  • Construction Management Certification
  • Basic project management techniques.
