About The Position

The Nuclear Planning Specialist develops maintenance plans, packages and work orders used to support a wide variety of maintenance tasks including: preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and modifications. The successful candidate will be adept at standard Microsoft Office Suite computer tools and must be able to quickly learn new programs used for planning, scheduling and reporting. The Nuclear Planning Specialist will walk-down work; research history; consult drawings, manuals and procedures; and develop detailed plans. This position requires good communication skills, primarily with maintenance workers, management, Engineering, Operations, and vendors, as well as excellent customer service. Shift work will be required at times in support of refueling outages. Call out duties will occur on a rotational basis. This position will at times be required to perform simple design packages and other engineering functions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Two (2) years of nuclear power plant or Nuclear Navy experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Maximo (maintenance management software) is preferred.
  • Nuclear Planning Specialist qualification is preferred but not required.
  • Well organized and capable of handling multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work in any environment demanded of the workforce, including temperature extremes and elevations.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Maximo) is required.
  • Must be willing to consider future opportunities as a Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Instructor or other advancement opportunities.

Nice To Haves

  • Engineering/Engineering Technology degree is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of plant systems, structures, and components is preferred.
