About The Position

The Pharmacist II, Nuclear is responsible for managing, facilitating, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the nuclear pharmacy. This role includes providing pharmaceutical care to patients, compounding nuclear medications, and ensuring compliance with Federal and state regulatory agencies. The pharmacist will optimize pharmacy operations to control costs, minimize waste, and maximize customer satisfaction while delivering positive patient outcomes. Responsibilities also include managing inventory, processing orders, and directing a team of drivers for medication delivery. The position requires flexibility in working various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD.
  • Valid Pharmacist’s license in the state of operation or in the process of obtaining one.
  • Completion of at least 200 hours of academic training in a nuclear pharmacy through an accredited program.
  • Working knowledge of biohazardous waste management procedures.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Manual dexterity required for dispensing doses.
  • Ability to lift containers weighing up to 55 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel if needed.
  • Valid driver's license in the state of operation.
  • Intermediate computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Authorized User certification.
  • Nuclear Pharmacy Training.

Responsibilities

  • Provides pharmaceutical care to patients as a staff pharmacist, including compounding of nuclear medications and testing for quality.
  • Assesses and maintains pharmacy inventory and executes necessary orders to maintain optimal supply.
  • Manages and directs internal workflows of nuclear pharmacy, optimizing staffing and scheduling.
  • Assists in execution of plans for lowering costs and increasing efficiency.
  • Maintains relationships with outside suppliers and vendors.
  • Participates in administrative tasks to facilitate nuclear pharmacy operations.
  • May oversee running of the facility as Pharmacist in Charge if needed.
  • Delivers doses if necessary.
