About The Position

The Nuclear Pharmacist at Cardinal Health is responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective coordination of pharmacy operations that service various medical facilities. This role involves providing radiopharmaceuticals and other drugs to medical care providers under strict regulatory guidelines, as well as consulting with healthcare professionals on the use of radioactive drugs. The Pharmacist II, Nuclear will manage day-to-day operations, optimize pharmacy procedures, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD.
  • Valid Pharmacist's license in the state of operation or in the process of obtaining one.
  • Completion of at least 200 hours of academic training in a nuclear pharmacy.
  • Working knowledge of biohazardous waste management procedures.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Manual dexterity for dispensing doses and lifting containers up to 55 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive in various weather conditions.
  • Intermediate computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Authorized User certification.
  • Nuclear Pharmacy Training can be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Provides pharmaceutical care to patients, including compounding nuclear medications and directing distribution using a team of drivers.
  • Assesses and maintains pharmacy inventory, executing necessary orders to ensure optimal supply.
  • Manages internal workflows of the nuclear pharmacy, optimizing staffing and scheduling.
  • Assists in plans for lowering costs and increasing efficiency in the nuclear pharmacy business.
  • Maintains relationships with suppliers and vendors for drug component availability.
  • Participates in administrative tasks to facilitate pharmacy operations.
  • May oversee the facility as Pharmacist in Charge if needed.
  • Delivers doses if necessary.
