About The Position

Nuclear Oversight (NOS) is required by the Callaway Energy Center (CEC) Operating Quality Assurance Manual (OQAM) to verify internal and external quality activities are conducted in compliance with the Operating Quality Assurance Program (OQAP). NOS Auditor positions provide this verification through assessment of the adequacy of OQAP implementation and reporting of the results to CEC management. These quality assurance assessment activities are conducted at Callaway Energy Center (CEC) and/or at vendor locations. Engineers fulfilling the role of a NOS Auditor will follow Engineering's Technical Career Path.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelor's or associate degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, or Quality Assurance preferred.
  • Must have the education and/or experience necessary to obtain Lead Auditor certification.
  • 10 years of technical experience for Consulting Auditor, 7 years for Senior Auditor, and 5 or more years for Auditor in relevant fields required.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, and Power Point software required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous nuclear and/or quality assurance experience preferred.
  • Previous experience or demonstrated ability to develop or implement quality assurance program elements preferred.
  • Previous experience conducting assessment activities preferred.
  • Previous experience in a customer-oriented work environment preferred.
  • Experience in performance improvement and human performance/behaviors preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct internal or external audits and surveillances of QA program implementation.
  • Clearly communicate with the audited organization to ensure the assessment results are well understood.
  • Initiate corrective action documents and verify effectiveness of actions taken.
  • Maintain Qualified Suppliers List and perform annual evaluations if assigned supplier quality responsibilities.
  • Prepare and review new and revised NOS procedures or instructions as assigned.
  • Lead complex internal or external audits or assessments to verify Quality Assurance Program content and implementation.
  • Provide input to NOS Supervision on scheduling of audits or assessments.
  • Provide functional guidance and direction to Auditors and Technical Specialists.
  • Coordinate updates to the Operating Quality Assurance Manual when necessary.
  • Develop and administer training to qualify Auditors and Lead Auditors when necessary.
  • Provide strategic leadership or vision for quality assurance assessment activities.
