Requirements
Certification: Must be certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT), RT (N).
Licensure: Must possess a full and unrestricted license to practice in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
Knowledge: Expertise in the location, appearance, and function of major and minor systems susceptible to radiological illumination.
Training: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Responsibilities
Interpret examination requests accurately and understand the functioning and inter-relationships of various organs.
Utilize specific methods and techniques to identify organs on digital display monitors or film.
Evaluate the acceptability of scans for diagnostic use and emphasize areas of interest for the physician.
