About The Position

Join us as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at the Syracuse VA Medical Center located in Syracuse, NY. Duties may include but are not limited to: Bone scans Bone marrow Brain scans Cardiac stress CSF leak Gastric emptying GI bleed scans Hemangioma scans HIDA Liver/spleen scans Lun perfusion and ventilation scans Octreotide therapy Parathyroid Thyroid scans/uptakes Met search Iodine 131 therapy inpatient & outpatient Schedule: Part-time, 8-hour shifts, 7:30A-4P. On-call, evenings, weekends, and holidays required as needed. Period of Performance: 6 months, (estimated 4/5/2026-10/4/2026). One 6-month renewal available through 4/4/2027. Who we are: Monterey is a Veterans Affairs (VA) Verified Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and a Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB). We graduated from the SBA 8(a) Program and have a variety of contracts available for use. What we do: Monterey teams with general practice, specialists, and allied health practitioners nationwide to provide local coverage for examinees. We deliver a wide range of medical examination-only services to public sectors and the individuals they serve. Our clients include the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), the Department of Labor, the Department of Defense, and more. Our provider network consists of over 700 providers in various medical specialties and degree types. They conduct diagnostic-only examination services on an as-needed basis. These services may take place in their private office, established clinics located across the country, or during travel opportunities for group screening events. Requirements

  • Education. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s Degree in Radiology Technology or related field preferred.
  • Certification. All applicants must be certified in nuclear medicine technology by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) (N). NMTCB or ARRT (N). BLS required.
  • Experience. Minimum 3 years of work experience in the specialized modality and be able to work with minimal or no supervision required.
  • Must have experience with all related examinations and procedures, including advanced modalities.
  • No sponsorship available.
  • Must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Chapter 3, Section A, paragraph 3.j.
  • Subject to background/security investigation.
  • Must pass TB test.
  • Complete an online onboarding process.
  • Willingness to comply with Department of Veterans Affairs vaccination programs for seasonal influenza and COVID-19.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
