About The Position

Performs a variety of routine and advanced clinical diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures at an intermediate to beginning specialist skills and knowledge level. Essential Functions: Performs diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures. Prepares radiopharmaceuticals for administration to patients. Determines appropriate dosage required based on study to be performed. Obtains patient history, reviews patient condition and administers accurate radiopharmaceutical dosage following established departmental procedures. Monitors patient during procedure and reports any unusual occurrences to appropriate personnel. Introduces and demonstrates new techniques, equipment, and research findings to staff. Checks equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis. Develops film including evaluating film for technical quality. Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations. Positions and transfers patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedure. Immobilizes patients as necessary and practices radiation safety procedures. Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department. Assesses and interprets patient age specific data and provides appropriate, age specific treatment. Provides direct patient care to assigned patient age group(s). Supervises, assists and evaluates students in the clinical education setting. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas and/or patient rooms.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
2 years Relevant experience.
Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist Upon Hire Required or Registered Technologist-Nuclear Medicine Technologist - ARRT Upon Hire Required
Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
Graduate of accredited program in radiologic technology Upon Hire Required
