About The Position

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for producing general nuclear medicine and PET/CT images for medical interpretation and administering therapeutic radioactive isotopes. This includes relaying instructions to patients, following procedure protocols, injecting radioactive isotopes, acquiring images, processing images, reviewing images for accuracy, and ensuring image quality by performing equipment QA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree PLUS
  • Successful completion of an approved Nuclear Medicine Program
  • Certified as Nuclear Medicine Technologist (ARRT and/or NMTCB)
  • Must obtain the Arkansas Radiologic Technologist License before the start date
  • CT Advanced Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or NMTCB must be obtained within 12 months of hire.

  • 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Experience

Responsibilities

  • Interacts with patients and family members throughout the procedure and treatment process.
  • Enters patient information into the database and uses a digital ordering system to order procedure isotopes.
  • Communicates with patients, coworkers, and physicians through written and verbal communication.
  • Participates in continuing education programs and completes training for new procedures as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
